🌳🌿 The snake shrine of Kavaledurga
It was raining heavily when we reached the entrance of Kavaledurga in Shimoga.
It made the sight of this snake shrine ruins adjacent to a dark turquoise lake even more enchanting.
Coming across this mysterious looking shrine hidden away by trees close to the the path leading upto the fort gave us some kind of an exploratory rush.

This heritage spot & shrine is a hidden secret in the region, devoid of the typical tourist crowd.
▫️An ancient hill fort situated near Shimoga in Karnataka that is perched at a height of 1541 metres. 🌿🌳🌲💚
▫️Although in ruins right now, the hill fort is still considered to be one of the most scenic & enchanting places in the state.
▫️Engulfed in greenery, the fort is surrounded by the majestic Western Ghats.
The fort can be reached through a trek uphill that might be a little tiring but the view at the top will make it all worthwhile.💚
